Key Takeaways:
- Start at home; you might be surprised at what you already have.
- Keep checking FamilySearch.org and the FamilySearch catalog. They are continually adding Italian records.
- Do as much as you can in the U.S. before you start to research Italian records.
You can find Mary at Origins Italy and on social media on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
i would also suggest WW2 military registration records. We found one hometown in Italy that way.
Then of course there is also Italy’s National Archive. Lots of digital records and found great grandpa’s birth record.

Happy hunting!

Great interview, thank you Amy.
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
